Comme celui de ce matin, lorsque l\u2019on m\u2019annon\u00e7a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u00abNotre r\u00e9dacteur en chef Frans Rombouts est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Impossible de se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 de tels moments. Le temps semble s\u2019arr\u00eater. Les mots nous manquent et un profond silence s\u2019installe.<\/p>\n<p>Instantan\u00e9ment, mes pens\u00e9es s\u2019envol\u00e8rent vers le souvenir de nos derniers contacts. Hier encore, avec cette voix douce et pos\u00e9e qui lui \u00e9tait si famili\u00e8re. Ou encore, il y a quelques semaines, lorsqu\u2019il me demanda d\u2019animer pour notre magazine une table ronde avec un groupe d\u2019\u00e9tudiants de derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9cole h\u00f4teli\u00e8re COOVI d\u2019Anderlecht, qu\u2019il avait \u00e0 c\u0153ur de diriger dans la bonne voie. Au cours de cette conversation, Frans \u00e9tait la gentillesse m\u00eame, inquiet qu\u2019il \u00e9tait pour l\u2019avenir de ces jeunes qui esp\u00e8rent faire carri\u00e8re plus tard dans l\u2019horeca.<\/p>\n<p>Aimable et impliqu\u00e9, voil\u00e0 ce qu\u2019\u00e9tait Frans. Ces deux caract\u00e9ristiques ont marqu\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re tout en combinant harmonieusement ses deux passions (l\u2019\u00e9criture et la cuisine).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de la KU Leuven en Philologie germanique en 1972, il commen\u00e7a \u00e0 enseigner \u00e0 l\u2019Ecole Militaire de Bruxelles. Il y dirigea pendant neuf ans les studios TV didactiques et y dispensa \u00e9galement des cours de n\u00e9erlandais aux officiers francophones. Il enseigna \u00e9galement au Centre des Langues Vivantes \u00e0 Louvain, un job qu\u2019il dut abandonner parce que celui-ci \u00e9tait devenu incompatible avec sa vie familiale.<\/p>\n<p>En 1984, il accepta l\u2019offre de la Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen de cr\u00e9er le nouveau d\u00e9partement de Communication Appliqu\u00e9e. Il y r\u00e9digea \u00e9galement plusieurs cours.<\/p>\n<p>Frans a rejoint Horeca Magazine &amp; Cook Magazine en 2003, o\u00f9 il prit \u00e0 c\u0153ur d\u2019occuper d\u2019abord le poste de r\u00e9dacteur final et o\u00f9 il put donner libre cours \u00e0 son amour pour l\u2019\u00e9criture.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>En 2014, il accepta le poste de r\u00e9dacteur en chef et entra en fonction en tant que secr\u00e9taire-g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019Union Belge des Journalistes et Ecrivains de Tourisme (UBJET).<\/p>\n<p>Il si\u00e9gea \u00e9galement avec le m\u00eame enthousiasme et l\u2019expertise n\u00e9cessaire dans le jury de divers concours de cuisine, tout comme lors des examens de fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e de nombreuses \u00e9coles h\u00f4teli\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>Cette vie captivante, vari\u00e9e et impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e de passion est malheureusement arriv\u00e9e &#8211; bien trop t\u00f4t &#8211; \u00e0 sa fin.
